Upcoming Event: WGL Damage Prevention and Properties of Natural Gas Training

Training sessions include the review of natural gas properties, the 811 laws in each of our jurisdictions, safe excavation techniques, escalation protocols, and a demonstration of a natural gas fire in our Pipetown training facility. First Damage Prevention and Safety Meeting of the Year: 1/22/19
Damage Prevention & Safety Meetings are typically held on the 4th Tuesday of the month and provide a forum for owner-members (utility-companies), locators, excavators, call center management, homeowners and all other damage prevention stakeholders to discuss topics related to safety and damage prevention. Each meeting provides a safety presentation from a guest speaker and lasts about 1.5 hours
Topics discussed can include: ticket processing, mapping, law updates, Ticket Check®, work site issues, damages, training, events and outreach campaigns. Excavators can typically resolve work site issues at these meetings.
Refreshments will be available at 9:00AM with the meetings beginning at 9:30AM. All will be held at the Miss Utility call center in Hanover, MD and guests can enter using the first-floor side entrance to the conference room. Registration is not necessary. We want to remind everyone that Tuesday, January 1st will not be used when calculating the ticket’s Response Due By date based on service territory.
Monday, December 31st is also a recognized holiday in Delaware and will therefore not be be used when calculating the ticket’s Response Due By date in that area.
