Miss Utility Video Lending Library

In our continuing efforts to promote underground utility damage prevention, and the safety of contractors and the public alike, Miss Utility now offers free rental of the following videos:

1. "Miss Utility Damage Prevention Basics" (7 mins.) - available in VHS and DVD format in either English or Spanish. Covers all the steps every contractor needs to take prior to excavating a job site and while on the job site.
2. "Digging Dangers XV: Digger Nightmares Continued" (15 mins.) - available in VHS and DVD format. Reviews large damages from 2003.
3. "Digging Dangers XIII: Digger's Nightmare" (7 mins.) - available in VHS and DVD format; also available in Spanish (VHS only). Reviews large damages from 2001.
4. "Digging Dangers XI: Hidden Hazards" (12 mins.) - available in VHS format. Reviews large damages from 1999.
5. "Dig Smart" (13 mins.) (Courtesy of Baltimore Gas & Electric) - available in VHS and DVD format. Reviews best practices for digging around electric and gas facilities.
6. "Safety Around Gas & Electric" (7 mins.) (Courtesy of Baltimore Gas & Electric) - available in VHS in either English or Spanish. Covers the hazards associated with overhead and underground gas and electric lines; appropriate for children.
7. "Get the Dirt" (8 mins.) (Courtesy of Common Ground Alliance) - available in VHS. Reviews the basic requirements for damage prevention.
8. "BGE Hazard Awareness Demo" (8 mins.) (Courtesy of Baltimore Gas & Electric) - available in VHS and DVD.
9. "SMECO Emergency Personnel and Safety" (60 mins.) (Courtesy of SMECO) - available in VHS. See a hot-line demonstration, what can happen when transmission and distribution voltage are bridged together and an auto accident involving energized power lines.
10. "SMECO Hot Line 1991" (20 mins.) (Courtesy of SMECO) - available in VHS. Electric table top demonstration for children.
11. "Miss Utility Damage Prevention Program" (30 mins.) - available in VHS and DVD format. A complete 30-minute program reviewing the steps necessary for underground utility damage prevention. Produced in conjunction with BGE, Underground Focus Magazine and the Miss Utility Subscribers.
    
12. "NPL Construction Company's "Make sure you know... What's down below!" (9 mins) - available in DVD format. A public service DVD promoting safe underground construction practices.

Rules and Policy:

Video rental is for one month's time and can be mailed to you or picked-up at the Miss Utility Call Center in Hanover, MD. Return of the video to the Miss Utility Call Center is the responsibility of the borrower; damage, loss or late return of the video will result in a charge for its replacement.
