Open Discussion:
Dora Parks stated that the Miss Utility/District One Call Center sent notifications to all Subscribers and/or their contract locating companies that the Center would be providing lat/long coordinates of the ADC grid cells on the outbound ticket. She said the full county name would be spelled out on the ticket as well. These new enhancements would be online prior to the next MD/DC Damage Prevention meeting.
There was a brief discussion about contractors being able to provide GPS coordinates on tickets. Dora stated that the Center has always had the capability of accepting lat/long coordinates.
Dennis Lescalleet (Pleasants Construction) said he is having issues getting utility lines located and indentified at a Montgomery County school jobsite. He said he is unable to get a response which has caused delays in completing the job. Several commented that they would be more than willing to help and Dennis thanked everyone for their assistance.
Mark Hamrick stated that Verizon lines continue to be damaged in Washington DC and the impact on customer service is a very serious concern. He stated that Verizon will continue to encourage the scheduling of damage prevention training through the MD/DC Damage Prevention team. Verizon is also encouraging all excavators they come in contact with to utilize the MD/DC damage prevention resources and he would like to ask the other Subscriber members to do the same.
